Chapter 20: The Lightning-Fast Slide and Kneel

While continuing to send some seemingly “pleading for mercy” but actually provocative messages to the Black Stockings Lady, Little Top couldn't wait to pull out that pale golden item card and activate it.
[Item Card: Reflect (Grade A): Upon use, for five minutes, it guarantees 100% reflection of any item or skill effect targeting you.]
He watched as the item card vanished immediately after use, feeling a twinge of regret—if not for the time limit and single use restriction, this card’s effect could easily rival an S-grade!
But it didn’t matter.
Once he got his hands on Lin Yang’s supplies, combined with his own extraordinary luck in unboxing, what powerful items could he possibly lack?
Come on, Lin Yang, parasitize already. He was eager to experience the effect of “parasitism” firsthand!
One minute passed.
Two minutes.
Three and a half minutes...
As time ticked by, Little Top’s once confident expression gradually gave way to unease.
What the hell was Lin Yang waiting for? Why wasn’t he using “parasitism” on him yet?!
Could it be that Lin Yang had already tried but the effect was reflected, so he didn’t notice?
Little Top became increasingly impatient, repeatedly opening and closing the game interface, but everything remained calm and quiet.
No indication that he was being parasitized, nor any sign of a successful reflection.
With less than a minute left on the reflect effect’s countdown, he couldn’t hold back any longer and sent a message to the Black Stockings Lady: “What, chicken? I knew a dumbass like you couldn’t get anything done.”
No reply.
With twenty seconds remaining on the reflect effect, Little Top was completely flustered.
Impossible. Knowing Lin Yang as he did, after all this talk, there was no way he could resist using parasitism!
What could possibly be wrong?!
Clenching his jaw, he began bombarding the Black Stockings Lady with messages.
Little Top: “Are you spineless or what? Not even daring to use it? Am I your damn father or what?”
Little Top: “Damn it, are you going to use it or not, you useless piece of trash?! Use it! I’m right here! If you don’t, I’ll never respect you!”
Ten seconds.

Little Top: “Please, just use it. I have no supplies, no hope, no will to live. Being parasitized by you, dying at your hands, wouldn’t be a waste of our acquaintance.”
Five seconds.
Little Top: “Lin Yang, damn you, you stinking idiot! Damn damn damn!!”
Zero seconds.
Little Top: “Brother, I was wrong, brother... No, Dad! I was really starving and confused before, just talking nonsense. Please, just treat me like a fart and let me go. I have less than thirty health left. That item card was a lie too! Don’t believe me? See my backpack screenshot!
“[EmptyBackpack.JPG], no water, no food, can’t move, can’t dig boxes, I’m useless now. If you parasitize me, it’s just wasting a powerful item card, not worth it!
“I know someone, called Great Strength Brick Flyer, ring a bell? He sold stuff in the chat hall before. He has tons of supplies and even bought an item card from me!
“Give me some time, I’ll find out his real name and tell you! Seriously, he not only has supplies but also medicine! That cooling medicine I told you about was from him!
“Right, he also bought a weapon blueprint from me! You know how valuable those are? He even has a weapon crafting station! Parasite him, and you can run wild in the dungeon!”
...
*
Jiang Ran read through the long string of messages, almost able to picture Little Top’s panicked face.
It had only been just over five minutes since she said she would use parasitism.
Apparently, the “trump card” Little Top held could only protect him for five minutes, no wonder he had to build up so much to ensure Lin Yang would use parasitism in time. The timing was tight.
From this, Jiang Ran roughly guessed what Little Top was relying on.
Probably something like the reflect effect with a time limit, only usable when confirming the opponent was targeting him.
As she thought, the supposed body double and danger foresight were all fake—everything was just to stir the Black Stockings Lady’s greed.
But if she were honest, Little Top really knew how to manipulate the original Black Stockings Lady. Had Jiang Ran not intervened, he might have succeeded.
As for now...
She pulled out her teleportation item.
Let her send Little Top off on his final journey.

Even though Little Top seemed doomed from her perspective, before setting off, Jiang Ran wrapped herself up completely, wearing a hat, mask, and sunglasses—the motto: better safe than sorry.
She didn’t want to go down in the gutter for some inexplicable reason like Little Top.

Prepared, she glanced at the message box.
It was filled with long pleas from Little Top and attempts to shift blame onto “Great Strength Brick Flyer,” almost making Jiang Ran laugh.
Kindly, she replied: “Why did you break down so easily while just going to the bathroom? I thought you had more backbone. You’re right—it’s a waste to use it on you.”
Little Top: “...”
Little Top: “Lin Yang, you damn bastard! Damn you to hell!!!”
How did he break so easily?
Jiang Ran shrugged and clicked teleport.
The next second, she appeared right behind the still-cursing Little Top.
He was hiding in a boot-shaped cave with the opening facing downward, completely unaware someone had appeared behind him.
It was clear he was truly shaken by her last message. Even though his throat felt like sandpaper, he shouted curses at Lin Yang at the top of his lungs.
This hardly looked like someone with a trump card left, yet Jiang Ran was still cautious, deciding to test him by aiming at his limbs first.
When the gun barrel pointed at his wrist, perhaps driven by some instinct between life and death, Little Top suddenly turned his head in horror!
But all Jiang Ran saw was a figure wrapped tightly in a sun-protective jacket.
Though she couldn’t see his face, she was certain this person was not Lin Yang!
If not Lin Yang, then who?
Who could bear such a grudge to come through so many fire ants outside and find him?
This was a question Little Top would never understand for the rest of his life.
Because Jiang Ran confirmed he had no body double item, she decisively finished him off.
She fired once at his heart, once at each side of his brain, then spent one life point to turn him into a box. After confirming Little Top’s avatar had completely blacked out, Jiang Ran prepared to leave.
But just as she was about to click to return to coordinates, she noticed an item card slowly drifting down above the box.
