Looking at these three, Meng Shuyin’s mind conjured up a four-word phrase: neglecting one’s proper work.

They were participating in a horror dungeon where death at the hands of those monsters could happen at any moment. Yet, there was not a trace of panic or fear on the faces of this man and woman; they hadn't even bothered to draw their weapons.

"Are you... not afraid?" Meng Shuyin looked at the pair and asked earnestly.

Chi You withdrew her gaze and flopped down onto a dusty hospital bed. "What is there to be afraid of?" she countered. "Whether one lives or dies is just a matter of an instant."

Jiang Pan nodded in agreement upon hearing this. He then handed over his phone and asked, "How about it? Did I get good shots?"

He had captured every detail of Sun Qian’s desperate expression and the sight of his torso remaining. It was quite bloody, and the monster was hideous—its skin had been stripped away at that very moment. The flesh and blood on the creature were clearly visible in the photos.

"Does it have that horrific atmosphere?" Jiang Pan continued to ask.

Chi You pushed his phone away and said seriously, "I don't have that kind of fetish, thanks."

"Hey, this is so cool," Jiang Pan sighed.

Meng Shuyin was speechless. Is this man a pervert?

The door could no longer withstand the assault and was smashed open by the monsters outside. The two men who had been braced against it were sent flying and crashed to the floor. The monsters scrambled to get in, but the doorway was narrow, and they became jammed, unable to enter or exit.

At this moment, Chi You pulled her weapon from her app inventory: a pink chainsaw.

When Jiang Pan saw it, his eyes lit up. "You got this from your starter pack?"

"Yes," Chi You replied, then pulled the starter cord. The roar of the chainsaw filled the ward, and as the monsters shoved and pushed against one another, they finally managed to squeeze through.

With Chi You brandishing her weapon, the other three hurriedly drew theirs: a shotgun, a yellow talisman, and a sword made of copper coins. Seeing Zheng Hong’s coin sword, Chi You was stunned. Seeing Meng Shuyin’s yellow talisman, she was even more shocked. Can this stuff really deal with these man-eating monsters?

But she had no time to ponder, for the monsters were already charging at her. Their skin had been peeled away, leaving only raw blood and muscle. Without skin to contain them, blood constantly dripped onto the floor. Furthermore, their internal organs were clearly visible. Transformed into such a state, they were truly hideous.

The spinning chainsaw plunged directly into the monster rushing toward her, shredding its innards. After she pulled the chainsaw out, the creature collapsed to the ground. Fearing it wasn't dead, Chi You lifted the chainsaw and brought it down on its head.

The four of them stood their ground—two with physical attacks, two with magical ones—and quickly slaughtered the monsters that had broken in.

The few who had been hiding in the back watched this scene, frozen in place.

"Since you’re so capable, why didn't you save Brother Sun earlier!" someone suddenly jumped out, pointing a finger at them. "If you had saved him, Brother Sun wouldn't have died in the mouths of these monsters!" The man looked furious, as if the four of them had committed some heinous crime.

Chi You turned off the chainsaw, the roar cutting off abruptly. Looking at the blood on it, she felt nothing but disgust.

"Brother Sun treated you well! Why didn't you save him when his life was in danger?" The man grew more agitated, his chest heaving.

Chi You found a rag and began wiping the blood off, speaking slowly as she did so: "Didn't you fail to go up and save him, too? You didn't go, I didn't go, none of us went to save him."

She finished wiping the blade, looked up, and met his gaze, saying earnestly, "I called out a warning, but what about you? You did nothing, standing there watching your own leader die in the monster's mouth, and finally watching him be torn apart."

Hearing this, the man frowned and began to reflect. Realizing she was right, he opened his mouth to say something, but a scream rang out from behind him.

"Ah—"

Zheng Hong, terrified by a white shadow that had suddenly appeared outside the window, scrambled toward Chi You, clutching his weapon. "That ghost shadow is back!" he shouted, pointing at the window.

Everyone looked toward the window and saw a ghost in white robes floating there. It was that female ghost again. Everyone shrank into the corners, terrified she would launch a surprise attack.

Chi You, however, was unafraid. She walked forward, chainsaw in hand. Stopping before the window, she stared straight at the female ghost.

"What do you want, following us around?"

The female ghost raised her hand and gestured in the air. Chi You frowned, looking at the motions. What was this supposed to mean?

"Can't you speak?" Chi You asked.

The ghost shook her head. It seemed her resentment wasn't strong enough to grant her speech. After a moment of eye contact, the ghost vanished.

"What was she gesturing?" Jiang Pan asked, walking over.

"How should I know?" Chi You replied with a shrug.

Outside the room, the hallway was clear of monsters. If not for the blood splattered on the ground, they might have thought everything that just happened was a dream.

Just then, a woman dressed as a nurse approached. Her hair obscured her face, making it impossible to see her features. She held a large ring of keys, which jangled with every step she took. Her gait was bizarre; her slender legs were twisted like a corkscrew, making her walk with a painful limp.

Chi You watched the nurse, silently tightening her grip on the chainsaw. Something was wrong with this nurse.

"Be alert," Chi You warned.

Jiang Pan had already readied his shotgun, and the other two quickly tightened their grips on their own weapons. As expected, once the nurse drew close, she went berserk.

"Return to the dormitory!" she shrieked.

The keys in her hand rattled incessantly, fueled by her rage. The clanging was deafening; the weaker ones among them clutched their heads in agony as the sound assaulted their ears. One fell to the ground, face twisted in unbearable pain.

"Help... help me!"

Jiang Pan frowned, eyes squeezed shut; the clanging showed no signs of stopping. The nurse was advancing toward them, her neck rotating a full circle to reveal a face with four eyes.

"Return to the dormitory!" The sharp, piercing voice rang out, and combined with the sound of the keys, it caused people to cough up blood.

"Save... save me, I... I don't... want to die yet." The man on the ground grabbed Jiang Pan’s pant leg, his voice coming in ragged gasps.
