Xurui had failed to learn any news about the device from the repair shop owner. After going to several other places without success, she finally returned to the small tavern.

By this time, the small tavern was surrounded by quite a crowd.

As Xurui reached the entrance, she could hear bursts of laughter coming from inside.

"Tsk tsk, this little one looks really handsome."

"Hahaha, scared like this, even his crying looks quite cute."

"Take him home and raise him. He won't turn out bad when he grows up."

"Boss, is he for sale?"

Hearing the voices inside, Xurui anxiously pushed through the crowd and indeed saw Xuchu surrounded in the center, his face pale with fright, only able to cry.

Xuchu’s face was fair and delicate, having been soaked in a nurturing fluid for half a year. His skin was tender, his chubby little face full and rosy, making him stand out among the crowd.

There was only a brief silence before Xurui’s exquisitely doll-like face once again stirred the entire tavern.

Her brows curved gracefully, long thick lashes framing her bright eyes, her nose sharp and delicate, lips pink and soft. Her round, egg-shaped face was flushed with a healthy glow, charming and adorable.

Her voice was crisp and tender, soft as if it could drip with moisture at any moment.

“Who would have thought that on such a desolate star, there would be such a beautiful pair of siblings. Want to come home with me? I can give you the best life.”

“This little girl’s genes are great, her looks outstanding. Come with your sister, and she’ll make you the hottest star in the entire galaxy.”

Xurui’s face tightened, holding Xuchu’s hand firmly, frowning impatiently.

She had brought her brother here only to find the merchant who owned the gene extraction device, not to deal with these people.

Just as she was about to speak irritably, the tavern’s door was opened again.

Following Xurui’s gaze, everyone in the square turned to look at the two newcomers.

They were a couple.

The woman was slender, dressed in a soft white blouse, with black hair and dark eyes. Her hair was tied in a simple, neat high ponytail, and her smile was gentle and warm.

The man had strong features, broad shoulders, tall and sturdy build, with bronze skin that looked healthy and powerful.

Seeing their faces,

A burst of exclamations erupted in the square.

“It’s the Bailey couple!”

Someone asked, “Who are they?”

“Don’t you know? They’re a famous explorer couple. The man is named Sylvan, the woman Sana.”

“They were scientists in their youth, then they both resigned to study other fields. Sylvan became an engineer, Sana an educator. Later, the couple traveled the galaxy together and became well-known explorers on the Galactic Network.”

“They are very kindhearted. During their expeditions, they filmed videos and livestreamed, using all their earnings to help others. Unfortunately, their account has been inactive for many years.”

Countless people in the square began searching through the Bailey couple’s account.

Someone noticed something unusual.

“Look at when their account stopped broadcasting—it seems to be the same year they met Xurui.”

“Oh my god! What did Xurui do to them?”

Xuchu clenched his fists, his eyes bloodshot.

Seeing the couple’s faces, memories began to become clearer.

It was them!

At this moment,

Sana’s cold eyes scanned the crowd, and she said coolly, “Everyone, we have already spoken with their parents. These two children are ours.”

As she spoke, she pulled a document from her bag and waved it at the crowd. “What? Do you want to challenge the authority of the Federation Covenant?”

No one dared to provoke the Federation government; it would bring huge trouble.

They glanced at the white Federation badges on the couple’s chests and quickly dispersed.

The white Federation badge signified government scientific personnel, and they were not to be trifled with.

After the crowd dispersed, Sana stepped forward and crouched down, smiling gently.

“Are you okay? Where are your guardians?”

As she approached, a fragrant breeze accompanied her.

Just looking at the scene, Xuchu could still recall the feeling at that moment.

That warm, sweet scent, like a mother’s, forever engraved deep in his memory.

Later, after being adopted by his foster father, he had tried many times to find the couple, but over all those years, there was no news.

Xurui, do not add to your sins.

However,

Xuchu’s tender memory seemed completely different from Xurui’s.

As the woman approached, Xurui suddenly recoiled as if shocked by an electric current, pulling Xuchu back several steps.

“Who are you!” Her voice sharpened in fear.

Xuchu shook his head. “I don’t know either. Her floral scent is very pleasant.”

But Jiang Chen sneered, “It’s probably because of that floral scent. She really hates the smell of perfume.”

Several other men nodded in agreement.

Whenever they had contact with Xurui, she showed a strong aversion to perfume.

Jiang Chen’s eyes were full of disgust. “She probably doesn’t realize how disgusting her own smell is.”

No one responded to this.

Liu Han seemed to think of something, and a faint blush crept up his ears.

Sana was also taken aback by Xurui’s reaction but maintained a gentle demeanor and spoke softly:

“Sorry, I should have introduced myself first. My name is Sana, and this is my husband Sylvan.”

She then took out a delicately packaged candy from her bag, unwrapped it, and handed it to the two.

It was a novelty Xuchu had never seen before. His eyes lit up as he eagerly took it and popped it into his mouth.

Tears still clung to his face, but he smiled broadly while enjoying the sweet candy.

“Sis, it’s so sweet.”

Xurui glared warily at Sana and pulled Xuchu behind her, adopting a protective stance.

“He’s my brother, and I’m his guardian. We have a home here and won’t go with anyone else.”

Sana quickly said, “I’m not trying to take you away. I just came to greet you kindly. Are you hurt?”

Xurui said coldly, “No. You can leave now.”

Sana wanted to say more, but Sylvan gently tugged her arm and shook his head.

The couple did not get angry but ordered two drinks and sat down in the tavern.

Xuchu stared eagerly at Sana. The candy had melted in his mouth, but he was still savoring the taste.

Xurui, somewhat annoyed, pulled him aside.

“Can you be a little smarter? There are many bad people outside. They all want to buy you with money, don’t you know?”

Xuchu absentmindedly replied, “I know, sis.”

But his eyes remained fixed on Sana, unable to look away, clearly still thinking about the candy she gave him.
