The bizarre scene frightened Wang Dafu’s mistress so badly that she let out a piercing scream.

The sharp cry of a woman immediately echoed throughout the entire museum.

Only after being pushed forward did the mistress realize what had happened. She stared at Wang Dafu in disbelief, never imagining that he could be so heartless.

Before the mission began, the two of them had sworn eternal love and exchanged sweet words. In just a few minutes, everything had changed completely.

A married couple may share the same nest, but when disaster strikes, each flies off alone.

Scenes like this were common in the strange apocalypse.

The ugliness and selfishness of human nature were laid bare in sinister missions.

With no other choice, the woman staggered to her feet. The overwhelming terror caused adrenaline to surge through her veins, allowing her to overcome her trembling legs and flee in another direction.

A skeletal security guard stood in front of them, blocking their path.

“Brother, hold it off for now. I’ll circle around from behind and ambush it.” Yellow Hair spoke to his good friend Green Hair with a solemn expression.

Green Hair nodded. He had followed Yellow Hair for more than ten years. They had grown up together and were childhood friends with an unbreakable bond.

Although he was terrified, Green Hair still gritted his teeth and remained where he was, drawing the skeletal security guard’s attention.

Yellow Hair patted his good friend on the shoulder and prepared to circle around behind the skeletal guard to launch a surprise attack.

As the skeletal security guard drew closer and closer, Green Hair’s legs began to tremble.

He stared fixedly at the guard’s back, waiting for his good friend to emerge behind it and deliver a fatal blow.

Yet several seconds later, Green Hair had already been cornered against the wall, while Yellow Hair, who was supposed to circle around, had still not appeared.

“You’re waiting for Yellow Hair?” The skeletal security guard spoke in a mocking tone. “I saw everything. Yellow Hair ran away behind me. He never intended to ambush me. He only wanted you to sacrifice yourself so that he could escape.”

Green Hair refused to believe it. But as the skeletal guard drew nearer, he finally realized in despair that his good friend had betrayed him.

“Ten years of brotherhood! How could you betray me?”

Green Hair cried out in grief and indignation. But after only a single shout, his body was torn apart by the skeletal security guard.

Hearing the cries behind him, Yellow Hair, who had already run far away, wore a mocking expression.

“What time is this? And you still trust your good friend? Isn’t that what good friends are for—to be betrayed?”

At that moment, Chen Mu stood before a clock, his expression calm.

A sinister security guard was drawing closer to him through the white mist, yet Chen Mu showed not the slightest trace of panic or any intention of fleeing.

After five minutes of deep thought, Chen Mu gazed at the clock before him. Suddenly, understanding struck him like a revelation.
