Chapter 28: Shocking! A Supernatural Being as His Chauffeur!
The guy with the dyed yellow hair was a classic bully who only picked on the weak. Once he realized the driver might be a supernatural entity, he didn’t dare speak, or even breathe too loudly.
Soon, the taxi drove into the forest and pulled over in a secluded corner.
"Sir, you have reached your destination," the driver said in a raspy voice.
"I... I wanted to go to... the hospital..." The yellow-haired man looked at the pitch-black forest surrounding them, his face turning deathly pale.
"The hospital was the destination you chose. But in this taxi, do you really have the right to choose? This woods is the destination the boss chose for you." The supernatural driver turned his head coldly to look at the man.
"Ah—!!! A ghost!!!" Seeing the driver's eyeless sockets, the man finally believed it; this driver really was a supernatural entity!
"The boss said to let you die with a clear understanding. The boss is Chen Mu. You provoked someone you shouldn't have; be more careful in your next life." The driver spoke with icy indifference, pronouncing the man's death sentence.
At this point, the man finally realized what kind of existence he had provoked. He suddenly remembered that before the mission began, Xiao San had mentioned that Chen Mu had been driven over by a supernatural taxi driver. At the time, he hadn't believed it, dismissing it as nonsense. Who could be so powerful as to make a supernatural entity willingly act as their driver?
But now, he believed it. Chen Mu was just that incredible! Not only was he living it up at the Duke’s estate, but he could even have a supernatural being serve as his personal chauffeur! What a terrifying existence Chen Mu must be!
If only he had known, he should have groveled before Chen Mu; that was a thigh thicker than a mountain to cling to. To think he had even considered killing Chen Mu—it seemed so ridiculous and foolish now.
However, there is no medicine for regret in this world. Amidst extreme remorse and terror, the yellow-haired man died in the pitch-black forest.

Inside the Mist Museum.
Guided by the Duke, Chen Mu arrived at the Duke’s office. Along the way, the Duke had been contemplating exactly how much he should sell the item for. He was well aware of the rarity of the Heavy Armor of Death. To be honest, parting with such an artifact pained him deeply. If it weren't for the fact that he was truly in dire need of money, he would never have considered selling it.
Inside the office, the Duke sat behind his desk while Chen Mu sat opposite him. Chen Mu immediately noticed the red wine cabinet on the wall to the right.
At this moment, the cabinet was completely empty. All the wine was gone. Chen Mu knew the Duke's preferences well. Just as the Duchess loved necklaces, the Duke’s greatest passion was red wine.
"Your Grace, let's not rush into business matters just yet. Aside from the gift I brought earlier, I have prepared some small tokens of appreciation for you."
With that, Chen Mu touched his space ring. As his thoughts flickered, bottle after bottle of red wine was retrieved from the ring and neatly arranged on the shelves.
One bottle, two bottles, five bottles, ten bottles, twenty bottles...
Bottle after bottle of red wine appeared on the rack. The sight was dazzling to the Duke! For a full two minutes, Chen Mu placed them until over a hundred bottles of high-end wine had completely filled the cabinet, which had previously been barren.
Every single bottle was worth a fortune; none were worth less than ten thousand credits. The most expensive ones were worth millions each! Even in his prime, the Duke had never been so extravagant with his wine purchases. Thinking of his current fallen state, the Duke felt a surge of emotion in his throat at the sight of Chen Mu’s generous gift.
His former subordinates had all stopped visiting him long ago. In contrast, every action Chen Mu took was like sending charcoal in the snow. There are many who add flowers to a brocade, but few who offer help in times of need. The world is cold, and human feelings are fickle—supernatural beings are no different.
In the Duke’s eyes, Chen Mu had no idea that the Heavy Armor of Death existed. Therefore, to the Duke, this series of contributions from Chen Mu was entirely selfless and without expectation of reward!
"Fine wine, truly fine wine. Mr. Chen, you truly treat me as a friend," the Duke remarked with deep emotion.
A moment later, the Duke realized that since Chen Mu had been so generous in his time of need, it would be petty and shameful for him to remain stingy. Based on this gesture alone, the Duke knew that Chen Mu was a man of integrity! This was a friend worth having.
The Duke moved the wine cabinet, revealing a hidden compartment behind it. He opened the compartment and pulled out a suit of armor taller than a man.
The Heavy Armor of Death!
"Mr. Chen, to be honest, this is a treasure I have collected for most of my life. It is a 'Ghost General' grade artifact—the Heavy Armor of Death! This armor possesses infinite power and the mighty ability to defy the rules. Back on the battlefield, I had to kill two Ghost Generals just to seize it. Now that I have few friends left, and since you have shown me such great kindness, I have nothing else to repay you with. Please, take this Heavy Armor of Death as my gift to you."
The Duke was also a man of honor; military commanders among the supernatural were generally like this—generous and loyal. Thus, without hesitation, he gifted the armor to Chen Mu.
Now it was Chen Mu’s turn to be shocked. The Duke was far too generous! This Heavy Armor of Death could fetch at least twenty million nether-credits on the market. Furthermore, as the supernatural apocalypse deepened, people were increasingly realizing the power of rules; the ability to counteract them had become even more precious, and the value of the armor was climbing steadily. At its peak, some had offered a billion nether-credits to acquire it!
Could the Duke really be giving him something so valuable?
As Chen Mu took the armor from the Duke’s hands, his heart raced with excitement. Although it looked heavy, it felt as light as a cicada’s wing in his hands, easily supported by a single palm.
Chen Mu took off his coat and put on the armor. The moment it touched him, the heavy plating transformed into a surge of light, merging into his body. Chen Mu felt a warm current flow through him, and a profound, surging power took root within.
It was the mighty power to defy the rules!
Chen Mu’s own strength climbed rapidly, upgrading from a Ghost Civilian to a Ghost Soldier! Moreover, he could clearly feel that his defensive capabilities had received a massive boost. The armor had become one with him; from the outside, it was invisible, and he still appeared to be wearing just his short-sleeved shirt. However, if anyone were to try and stab him now, they would be shocked to find that the blade hit him as if striking solid steel.
With the armor fused into his body, this unique weapon capable of resisting the power of rules now belonged to Chen Mu alone. No one could ever snatch it away.
Feeling the vast power within him, Chen Mu was overjoyed. He finally possessed the strength to protect himself. All the gifts he had bought at the Fallen Mall had not been in vain; not only had he earned the Duke’s friendship, but the Duke had also gifted him such a precious artifact.
