As an agricultural sciences student, Qian Qi naturally understood how it felt to have someone destroy the crops in one’s experimental field.

“So that’s why I was always getting into fights?” Qian Qi seemed to understand where all those fragmented memories of brawling had come from.

Li Shuyun silently nodded.

Qian Qi could not help rubbing her face in exasperation. No wonder Little Liu had rejected her. After all, who would believe that someone who hated magical plants could help them grow healthy ones?

“Of course, that isn’t all.” Li Shuyun went on to list several other outrageous things Qian Qi had done back then, leaving Qian Qi feeling increasingly exhausted.

It seemed the original owner’s reputation as a thug had already taken such deep root in everyone’s hearts that it would be nearly impossible to uproot.

Still, it was no big deal~

She believed that if she appealed to their emotions and reasoned with them, there would eventually be students willing to open their hearts and accept her “help”!

Qian Qi strode toward her classmates with her head held high. She refused to believe she couldn’t land a single client today!

Four hours later.

Qian Qi lay sprawled across the giant cauldron lid, utterly dejected.

She had underestimated the original owner’s notoriety and overestimated her own credibility. Her classmates simply did not trust her.

Even after she helped Li Shuyun grow a Fire Qilin Lotus, none of them were willing to trust her, much less believe that she was capable of solving their magical-plant problems.

Once trust was broken, rebuilding it was extraordinarily difficult.

Was she really going to stop here?

Qian Qi tapped her fingers against the cauldron lid again and again, each crisp knock unhurried and steady.

No. She absolutely could not stop here.

Although she really did not want to use that method, still…

Qian Qi abruptly hauled herself upright. A shameless, roguish smile slowly spread across her face.

No one could stop her from making money. Since they refused to trust her, she would simply make use of this shameless, roguish persona and force them to trust her!

A day later, Qian Qi hefted a hoe over her shoulder and intercepted Little Liu, who always ran the moment he saw her.

She slapped a contract down in front of him. “Classmate, forty-five bucks can buy you six months of peace and quiet, and it can even save you the four thousand five hundred bucks for next year’s tuition. Are you really not going to consider it?”

Little Liu had just been about to shake his head when Qian Qi drove the hoe viciously into the soil. The force behind it made his heart jolt in fright.

She gave him a sinister grin. “Think carefully before you answer. This is a guaranteed-win, no-loss deal. I get the money, and you get an excellent cultivation report. That’s a win-win, classmate.”

“We’ll be seeing each other often from now on.” Qian Qi straightened the back of Little Liu’s collar and patted him on the shoulder. Her tone was earnest and heartfelt, with a very obvious hint of menace. “A little more trust, hmm?”

Little Liu, trembling with fear, signed the contract with tears in his eyes.

[Wow. You really are human garbage…]

Qian Qi ignored the system’s remark. She happily put away the contract and said to Little Liu, “Don’t worry, classmate. You’ll definitely thank me in the future!”

All Little Liu wanted was for the forty-five bucks to buy him some peace. As for Qian Qi’s promise to cure his magical plant, he had no hope whatsoever.

But after Little Liu painfully transferred the forty-five bucks to Qian Qi, he discovered that she was actually studying his magical plant with great seriousness.

After carrying out some basic tests, she confidently told him, “Go to the Beast-Taming Department next door and get some Flame Hound droppings. Dry them out and mix them into the soil. Tomorrow, cut the leaves and stem down to about here, then soak the severed section in hydrogen peroxide for two hours.”

Qian Qi picked up a red marker and indicated a spot on the plant’s stem. Then she added, “If anything else goes wrong after that, you can come to me anytime.”

As if she had just remembered something, she smiled sweetly and added, “Oh, right. If you have any questions about the cultivation report, I can give you some pointers too. Of course, that’ll cost extra~”

Little Liu listened dumbly from beginning to end. After Qian Qi swaggered away with her hoe over her shoulder, he stared at the dying magical plant and could not help thinking: Why not give it a try?

The hydrogen peroxide from the experiment was free, after all. He might as well try treating a dead horse as though it were still alive. What if it actually worked?

…

By the end of the day, Qian Qi had amiably slung her arms around her classmates’ shoulders and—forcefully, ahem, successfully—negotiated seven business deals.

Looking at the 315 bucks in her account, Qian Qi opened Su Xingle’s comm-brain contact.

[Your Uncle]: Senior Su, are you there?

[Your Uncle]: If you aren’t, I’ll come to your dorm and find you^v^.

Su Xingle had originally planned to pretend he was offline, but in the end, he could only steel himself and reply to Qian Qi.

[Young Master Sucheng]: I’m here, I’m here. What is it, junior?

[Your Uncle]: I want to get some magical-beast meat. You know what I mean ^_^~

[Young Master Sucheng]: How much?

[Your Uncle]: Twenty pounds. How much will it cost?

Su Xingle scratched his head. How much? Was this young lady merely being polite, or was she asking seriously?

[Young Master Sucheng]: No need to pay. This stuff isn’t expensive anyway. Consider it a token of my respect for you!

[Your Uncle]: That won’t do. If this happens too often, it’ll create a rift between us.

Su Xingle was immediately filled with guilt. He had misunderstood Junior Qian Qi again. She was such a good person—how could he have thought she was a shameless freeloader?

[Young Master Sucheng]: Junior, the market price for E-grade magical-beast meat is seventy bucks a pound!

[Your Uncle]: …

[Your Uncle]: How about we just create that rift after all^_^.

Su Xingle: ???

Elsewhere, Qian Qi rubbed her face with a sorrowful expression. She had not expected magical-beast meat to be so expensive.

It seemed she would need to close another dozen or so deals.

Qian Qi turned her attention to the other students in the magical-botany classes. So far, she had only analyzed twenty-two species of magical plants, and if she wanted to sign contracts, she had to find students who were growing those twenty species.

Her comm-brain suddenly lit up. Su Xingle had sent her another message.

[Young Master Sucheng]: Junior, does growing magical plants in your department require a lot of magical-beast meat?

Qian Qi fell silent for a moment.

As far as she had observed, the students in the Magical Botany Department never used magical-beast meat. It might not even have occurred to the magical-plant researchers that some magical plants needed to be fed magical-beast meat as they grew—sometimes even meat from one specific type of beast.

Even if they knew that, they would still need to conduct a great many experiments before discovering the correct method.

As for whether Qian Qi was willing to share what she knew, naturally, she was not.

She had no ability to protect herself. If she made herself seem too valuable, unforeseen dangers would come one after another.

However, she was willing to share some of her knowledge with the students of the Magical Botany Department.

A crafty, sly smile suddenly appeared on Qian Qi’s face.

After all, if she opened a factory in the future, she would certainly need workers. And if she needed workers, it would be best for them to be experienced.

The students of the Magical Botany Department were the perfect candidates.

Why was she willing to accept forty-five bucks and spend so much time teaching them to grow magical plants, yet unwilling to borrow money from Li Shuyun or Su Xingle?

Naturally, it was because she wanted to train her adorable classmates!

Once she had trained them all, she could justifiably offer them jobs…

Then she could wash her hands of everything and go enjoy a sweet retirement, while this group of former classmates remained at the factory, laboring away to make money for her!

Oh~ My adorable, gullible classmates!

All of you are going to become the future workers of Boss Qian—hahahahahaha!
