On the other hand, thanks to the recent surge in Li Lekang’s popularity, LAA’s plan to organize a solo magic show for him was already set in stone.

The immense traffic allowed Mike, the negotiator, to bargain with their business partners with confidence—demanding a higher share of the profits and more promotional efforts from the partnering company. He could even say, with righteous conviction:

“You have to understand, even top-tier magicians can’t match Li’s current performance. Masters like Angel only hold the edge because of their accumulated fame. You won’t find a deal this good anywhere else!”

Mike spoke eloquently, while Simon stroked his chin, lost in thought.

Eventually, Simon relented, “Alright, we’ll cover the venue costs, advertising, and the risk of losses. You’ll take seventy percent with zero risk—surely that’s generous enough!”

Mike weighed his options. Li Lekang was still in the early stages of his rise to fame, while Simon already had a well-established performance system, with advertising, publicity, and venues all at his fingertips.

If Li could open a solo show, it would be a significant milestone in his career—if it succeeded, it would not only be an achievement but also a bargaining chip for future negotiations.

Thus, the partnership was struck. LAA would organize a solo magic show for Li Lekang, with the first planned stops being Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

Plans for New York in the East and Miami in the Southeast were also in the works. If Li’s performances impressed, a nationwide tour of major cities would be inevitable.

For a newcomer, LAA’s audacity was remarkable.

Perhaps the internet age had changed how people thought—no longer was it necessary to build up a massive body of work and simmer in popularity for years before taking bold action.

The times had changed. Now, internet celebrities needed to cash in early—wait too long, and you wouldn’t even have a bowl of porridge left to your name.

If Li could seize the moment, he could rocket to the status of a top-tier magician, even surpassing the old masters to become the new king.

So Li Lekang found his schedule growing more and more packed.

One day, as he was about to go for a run and walk his dog, Mike called to invite him to a party. “There’ll be a producer from NBC there—he’s a huge fan and would love to meet you!”

“But I still have to walk my dog, or it’ll tear the house apart,” Li replied, glancing at his dog, Mike, who was currently gnawing on his slippers—already the fourth pair.

Maybe he should order some steel-wire slippers from Master Geng across the ocean, or his shoes would never last.

Mike persisted, “Just bring him along! Such an adorable little guy—everyone will love him. You can do both things at once. Come on, what are you waiting for?”

Li laughed, realizing he was being overly cautious. “Alright, give me a minute to change clothes!”

“I’ve sent you the address, bro.”

Glancing at the address, Li called Daisy.

Daisy was at home practicing her singing, her voice audible through the walls.

As a stage actress, both performance and singing were her basic skills—she had chosen a unique path in the crowded world of performers, one that still brushed against the entertainment industry.

But no matter the path, fame was never easy to come by. Good looks and talent were the bare minimum; the real key was catching the eye of someone important—someone with connections.

For Daisy, Li Lekang was that person. So she didn’t hesitate, quickly changing and putting on makeup, and before he left, she was at his side, fragrant and smiling, looping her arm through his.

This exquisite sweetheart was in high spirits. “Sandra’s at work—so now you’re all mine!”

Li smiled, kissing her on the lips; she stood on tiptoe to kiss him back. Even going downstairs took several minutes in their affectionate dawdling, and once in the car, Daisy still had to hold his hand.

They drove toward Malibu.

It was a typical enclave for the wealthy—unlike Beverly Hills, it was by the sea and more tranquil, the hills dotted with mansions where the elite could enjoy both mountain and ocean views.

Arriving at the address, Li took off his sunglasses, Daisy carrying their dog beside him. A Latina housekeeper hurried out to greet them, and Li greeted her with a cheerful “Hola.”

The housekeeper smiled broadly and gestured, “Mr. Li, this way, please!”

The party wasn’t as lively as the last one at the singer’s house, but the quality of the women was no less, and the guests were all heavyweights: Simon, the owner of the circus group; Jason, the producer of Got Talent; old friend Mike—a room full of familiar faces.

Then there was Johnny Gaines, the NBC producer who claimed to be Li Lekang’s fan. He greeted Li with a beaming hug, and when Li conjured a tiny porcelain bulldog from his pocket as a gift, Johnny was overjoyed. “You should save that for the talk show! Wow—but I love it!”

Li had clearly fulfilled a fan’s wish.

Mike introduced him, “Johnny wants to arrange a spot for you on ‘Jimmy’s Tonight Show.’ We’re working out the schedule.”

Such a major invitation left Daisy, his companion, visibly stunned. Jimmy? That guy was world-famous—only top-tier stars appeared on his show. Could Li’s fame really be at that level?

Johnny smiled. “To be honest, it’s still in discussion. But I believe once Li’s popularity is strong enough, he’ll have every reason to go on.”

“That’s right!” Mike chimed in.

Li knew this was an empty promise for now; whether it materialized depended on his future performance—but he was confident it would happen.

Seeing Li Lekang chatting and joking with these influential people, spinning stories and entertaining the party, Daisy had no reason to doubt his capabilities. He was a treasure—a man full of delightful surprises.

This scene was LAA’s clear show of support for him, and Li was quick to exercise his social skills, bantering with friends and performing the occasional trick.

The gathering was filled with laughter and good cheer, and Li’s little husky, with its natural charisma, became the star of the show.

The reason? Mike couldn’t sit still when he saw three beautiful women cornering the husky and petting it at the door. He went over to join them. “Hey! This is Mike, my four-legged best buddy!”

Only in America would a man so cheerfully call a dog his brother—especially when the dog was such a chick magnet!

This blue-eyed husky was at the peak of its cuteness, impossible not to love.

To show off, Mike played a frisbee game with the dog. “I’m a dog-training master—he’ll fetch whatever I tell him to. Watch this!”

He grabbed a frisbee from the living room, promised the dog a treat if it brought it back, and threw it. The husky shot off, leaping up to snatch the frisbee midair, earning the admiration of the women.

“Good boy! Let’s try something harder!”

Mike ruffled the dog’s head and threw the frisbee even farther.

The husky retrieved it again, dropping it at Mike’s feet and waiting for its reward.

“Want to see something even crazier?”

With a crowd of beautiful women watching, Mike began to feel the pressure of living up to his own hype.

But he overlooked one detail—the husky was no ordinary dog. When it didn’t get the treat it deserved, it felt betrayed.

Annoyed, the dog shot Mike a look and dashed off in another direction, heading straight for two girls sunbathing by the pool. Without warning, it snatched the loosened bikini top off one of them, then darted back to Mike, dropped it at his feet, and wagged its tail, waiting for praise.

The girl screamed—so did Mike. He immediately bolted, realizing he’d been set up!

But he was too slow—the husky snatched up the bikini top again and chased him around the yard, wild yelps and laughter ringing out as man and dog raced in circles.

If Juanling were there, there would no doubt have been a dog-to-human translation: “You little punk—let’s see how you handle this!”
