The smile on Yuan Feiye’s face instantly cracked.

Alright, alright, so all these kids call him “uncle,” huh? Is he really that old?

Sang Fuying noticed Yuan Feiye’s sour expression and quietly reminded Mo Er, “He’s only ten years older than us; you should call him ‘brother.’”

“Only... ten years?” Mo Er was puzzled. “Ten years older isn’t enough? If he’s not my brother-in-law, he would be in the same generation as my father.”

Mo Er’s delicate face held a clear, innocent expression that only fueled Yuan Feiye’s irritation.

If he argued with this kid here, it would make him look childish. But if he didn’t scold him, he’d feel stifled!

Why are kids so annoying these days?

Yuan Feiye stretched out his long legs and stepped over to Sang Fuying, draping her slender shoulders around her and pulling her close behind him.

At first, Sang Fuying was caught off guard by the intimate gesture and then instinctively pulled away.

Mo Er’s eyes narrowed slightly, his peacock-green irises flashing hints of hostility.

What is this old man doing? Harassing a young female right at the entrance of the Federation University?

“Fuying, study hard at school. Don’t get too close to those shady classmates, especially those rich brats who waste their time and have no sense of decency. Hanging out with them will only lead you astray,” Yuan Feiye warned Sang Fuying pointedly.

Sang Fuying felt like his words were directed at Mo Er but, unable to prove it, simply nodded, “I understand.”

“Class is about to start, Sang, we should go in,” Mo Er reminded her.

Yuan Feiye turned to Sang Fuying, asking, “You two know each other well?”

“We’re classmates, desk mates,” Mo Er answered first.

Yuan Feiye silently rubbed his jaw.

What a joke, Sang Yao! He talks about the little one seducing Mo Er, but he’s clearly the one pushing her towards Mo Er!

The key is, Sang Yao knows full well that Mo Er is no good!

Forget it. He’ll explain things to the little one later, tell her to keep away from Mo Er.

“Then let’s go to class. I’ll pick you up after school,” Yuan Feiye said, reaching out to ruffle Sang Fuying’s hair.

Just that gesture of patting Sang Fuying’s head made Mo Er inexplicably irritated.

Could the old man mind his manners? Touching a female like that—does he know what personal boundaries are?

“Are you close to Yuan Feiye? Why does he bring you to school?” Mo Er couldn’t help but ask Sang Fuying as they sat down in the classroom.

“He’s my father’s student. We’re quite close. Recently, my uncle has been busy, so I’m staying at his place,” Sang Fuying thought. Since her uncle agreed to let her go home with Yuan Feiye, their relationship must be good.

“Your uncle is busy? He’s not at war lately. What is he busy with?” Mo Er pressed.

Realizing it might be rude, he quickly changed the subject, “I don’t mean anything else; it’s just that I think Yuan Feiye isn’t a very good person.”

“Why do you think that?” Sang Fuying turned to look at Mo Er with focused eyes.

The boy’s youthful, innocent face didn’t seem to match the image of someone dangerous.

“He became a commander in the Federation army by relying on his family’s status. In his first battle in command, he ordered the troops to retreat from the Ninth Star. While this minimized military losses, it meant the entire Ninth Star fell. So objectively, he was never really a good person,” Mo Er explained.

Sang Fuying wasn’t well-versed in the Federation’s situation with the Ninth Star and didn’t fully understand.

Her impression was that it was a strategic failure or maybe a sacrifice of civilians to protect Federation interests.

“So, you don’t really accept him as your brother-in-law?”

“I don’t care. He’s not my only brother-in-law. Even if he matches with someone, he would only rank thirtieth,” Sang Fuying said, struggling to continue.

She knew females were rare in this world. Males needed female companionship to stabilize their mental strength. Her uncle was clearly at a stage where this was urgently needed.

Thinking about her uncle’s efforts to find a mate, she felt a faint sadness.

Not because he was getting married, but because he would have to compete with many males for favor.

Back on Earth, she had hoped her uncle would find a truly loving wife to share life with, but it never happened.

“How old is your uncle? Thirty this year, right?” Mo Er suddenly asked.

Sang Fuying nodded, “Yes.”

“For a male, reaching thirty without securing a female is dangerous. Their mental strength can collapse at any time. Since your uncle’s been busy lately, he’s probably trying to find a mate,” Mo Er said thoughtfully.

“I... don’t know...” Sang Fuying replied hesitantly.

Mentioning her uncle’s mental collapse, she recalled what happened last night in the bathroom, and her cheeks flushed uncontrollably.

Mo Er glanced sideways, noticing the blush spreading on the girl’s pale face, a strange expression crossing his features.

He hadn’t bothered to investigate Sang Yao before, and certainly not his niece; only yesterday did he look into it a little.

Sang Yao and the girl didn’t have a good relationship. Sang Yao despised her because she was a defective female, adopted by Doctor Sang. Before Doctor Sang went to do research on a slum planet, he entrusted her to his youngest brother, Sang Yao, for care.

Then a riot broke out on the slum planet, and Doctor Sang died there. Custody of Sang Fuying fell to Sang Yao.

Though he never said it openly, Sang Yao saw her as a burden.

Mo Er guessed this much.

Because she often tried to use her only advantage—her beauty—to seduce males and escape the Sang family.

And he himself happened to be on her list of targets.

Mo Er lowered his gaze to the bite mark on the web between his left thumb and index finger.

He didn’t dare ask if it was from her, nor did he dare inquire whether she saw him in the bunker that day.

After all, that incident was too disgraceful for both of them.

If the bite mark was hers, then she wasn’t defective at all, but a highly gifted, prodigious female with exceptional soothing abilities.

From the faint trace of aura, he couldn’t be sure it was her, but he was certain it wasn’t the female who died in his bunker.

When school ended, Yuan Feiye promptly sent a location message to Sang Fuying.

The freshman schedule at Federation University was packed, almost every day from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. But Yuan Feiye and her uncle were colleagues, and her uncle’s off-duty time seemed to be around eight o’clock.

In front of the flight ship, Yuan Feiye had changed out of his uniform, wearing a black-and-white flight jacket over a white T-shirt. Leaning against the burgundy-colored ship, a lit cigarette between his fingers, he appeared casual yet elegant, like a delicate flower swaying in the breeze.
