Sang Yao was utterly stunned as he loaded every type of sanitary pad from the mall shelf into his shopping cart. The quantity he brought home rivaled the amount Yuan Feiye had ordered for delivery.

When he returned to Yuan Feiye’s house, Yuan Feiye was leaning against the sofa, arms crossed, his fox-like eyes narrowed, scrutinizing him intently.

Those pink eyes shimmered with an eerie, seductive gleam that made Sang Yao’s brows furrow in discomfort.

“Where is Yingying’s room?” Sang Yao ignored Yuan Feiye’s sharp, subtle gaze.

Yuan Feiye lifted his chin slightly, a trace of disdain in his expression. “I already ordered sanitary pads for her. Just leave them here; I’ll take them to her later.”

“If you’re not going to say, then I’ll find her myself,” Sang Yao replied, continuing to disregard Yuan Feiye.

Yuan Feiye stood up and stepped in front of Sang Yao, blocking his path with a mocking tone: “Sang Yao, you’re hiding a lot, huh?”

Unaware of the situation, Sang Yao couldn’t respond to Yuan Feiye’s words. He only wanted to find Sang Fuying and ask how she was doing, attempting to push past Yuan Feiye and head upstairs. But Yuan Feiye stood firm, like a wall, unmoving.

“Commander Yuan, Yingying is my family. What happens between her and me is our private matter. We’re just colleagues. You and her father—my eldest brother—only share a slight acquaintance. Don’t you think you’re meddling too much? And do you even know what boundaries are?” Sang Yao confronted Yuan Feiye at the stairwell.

At that moment, Sang Fuying came downstairs carrying a clean mug. She happened to see the two tall men standing face to face, their tension palpable.

Upon noticing her, both men immediately softened their demeanor.

“Uncle, why did you buy so many sanitary pads too? Brother Yuan just bought a lot, and I even messaged you to buy less,” Sang Fuying chided gently as she looked at the two large bags of sanitary pads Sang Yao had brought.

Sang Yao was dumbfounded.

Her tone and attitude suggested she was used to him buying sanitary pads for her. But this was the first time in his life he had ever done so—he had no idea she even had a female cycle.

Instinctively, he responded, “Sorry, I didn’t see your message earlier.”

Their interaction confirmed in Yuan Feiye’s mind that Sang Yao was indeed aware that Sang Fuying was a normal female.

“Yingying, go play for a while. I have something to discuss with your uncle,” Yuan Feiye said, grabbing Sang Yao and leading him upstairs to the study.

He locked the study door behind them, casually picked up a slender cigarette from the desk, and lit it in one smooth motion.

Sang Yao frowned deeply. “You just brought me here to puff on your secondhand smoke?”

Yuan Feiye exhaled smoke leisurely, the bluish tendrils spilling from his lips, veiling his exquisitely seductive face.

Behind the haze, he smiled contemptuously. “Tell me, you hid the fact that your niece is a normal female because you want to keep her by your side all to yourself, right? You always say the little girl tries every trick to escape and reach for higher branches—she’s running from you, isn’t she?”

“That’s not true!” Sang Yao retorted vehemently.

His intense reaction only seemed to give Yuan Feiye the upper hand. He taunted, “See? You’re flustered and desperate, like a cornered dog!”

“I already said I’m not,” Sang Yao said, his defense growing weak. With Yingying’s cycle and his own outburst, no explanation he gave could sound convincing to an outsider.
