Sang Fuying followed closely behind the man, her clothes soaked through. The oppressive heat had faded, replaced by a chill that left her shivering all the way.

Leaving the estate, a small burgundy flying ship descended from the sky. Its door opened automatically, revealing an exquisitely luxurious cockpit inside.

She quietly asked Xiao Bu, “Is this the transportation in this world?”

Xiao Bu replied, “Yes, this is a flying ship. This one is quite fancy; in your world, it would be like a Lamborghini.”

“Then he must be very rich,” Sang Fuying whispered as she observed the man ahead.

From the system space, Xiao Bu looked at the fox-like man thoughtfully and said, “Everyone just called him Commander earlier. Officials probably don’t lack money, right?”

“After you, Miss Sang,” the man politely raised his hand in invitation.

Her clothes were still dripping wet, and she hesitated. “I hope you don’t mind me dirtying your vehicle?”

Hearing the old-fashioned term “car,” the man chuckled with curiosity. “Has Sang Yao rarely let you out to play? This is a magnetic levitation airship, not a car. Besides, you’re not dirty, and my ship isn’t spotless either. Don’t worry about making a mess. Come on up.”

If it did get dirty, Sang Yao would pay for it anyway.

After boarding the ship, the man handed her a coat. “Wear this for now.”

It was a men’s long trench coat, and whether it was sprayed with perfume or not, it carried a faint scent of orange blossom.

Sitting in the pilot’s seat, the man gently reminded the girl in the back, “Remember to fasten your seatbelt.”

His tone was like coaxing a child.

After fastening her seatbelt, the ship began to fly smoothly through the sky. She gazed through the glass window at the strange new world outside, so sci-fi it felt like a dream.

“Did you sneak out by yourself?”

The man’s clear, mellow voice floated into her ears, breaking her drifting thoughts.

She answered with a simple “yes.”

Xiao Bu’s fusion had failed, leaving her with no memory of her original self. How could she possibly know how she had gotten out?

“Have you tried contacting your uncle?”

“I did, but the call didn’t go through,” Sang Fuying answered truthfully.

“I’ll try calling him now.”

The man’s slender fingers touched the silver snake-shaped bracelet on his wrist. A translucent light screen lit up from it. He selected a contact named “Strong Brother” with a black profile picture and initiated a voice call.

The busy signal rang for only two seconds before someone answered with a clear, deep voice: “What’s up?”

Sang Fuying’s heart clenched—that voice was definitely her uncle’s!

But why hadn’t her uncle answered when she called, nor returned her call, yet he immediately picked up this man’s call? Could they be dialing different numbers?

“Nothing. Do you think I’d call you if there was nothing important?” the man said, the atmosphere suddenly tense.

The voice on the other end replied coolly, “Oh? What trouble does the former commander want?”

Sang Fuying covered her mouth, trying to stifle a laugh.

Her uncle’s normally serious voice could say such amusing things?

The man glanced through the rearview mirror at the girl quietly laughing behind him and twitched his lips in silent exasperation. “I went to the Lester family estate for a blind date today.”

“Oh, good luck. Nothing else, I’m hanging up,” Sang Yao said, clearly uninterested.

“No, I haven’t finished. You can’t hang up yet,” the man’s tone turned commanding.

Sang Yao’s impatience was obvious. “Speak.”

“I didn’t meet my blind date.”

“Bad luck,” Sang Yao replied, thinking the man was ridiculous and wondering what nonsense he was spouting.

Previously, their interactions had been limited to work-related matters; those too were often disagreements and arguments. They never chatted idly.

Sang Fuying quietly listened in the backseat, thinking how strange their conversation was.

“But, interestingly, I didn’t meet the blind date. Guess who I did see?” The man raised his eyes again, looking at the white, gentle girl reflected in the rearview mirror.

Wrapped in his trench coat, her small hands resting on her knees, her clear and lively eyes attentively following their not-so-serious conversation.

That gentle and serene expression was strangely pleasing to behold.

This defective female adopted by the Sang Yao family was, apart from her flaws, extraordinarily beautiful. Her bright purity carried a hint of charm, and her palm-sized face was delicately sculpted like a porcelain doll.

Compared to the last time he saw her—when she peeked out from the Sang Yao family balcony—she seemed somewhat different.

Last time, she truly looked like a fragile porcelain doll, pale and brittle, with hollow, lifeless eyes. This time, she was a living porcelain doll, her eyes clear and bright like a sky full of stars.

But Sang Yao really didn’t want to hear his rambling anymore. “Can you just say everything at once? I’m not interested in trivial matters, and you don’t need to chat with me casually.”

“Fine, I’ll say it all at once. I saw your little niece at your house. I’m sending her back now, just letting you know.” With that, he ended the call.

“You’re my uncle’s friend, but you look rather young. How should I address you?” Sang Fuying asked.

“My name is Yuan Feiye. You can call me by my name, or Brother Yuan, or Brother Feiye,” he added, emphasizing, “But definitely not Uncle.”

When forbidding her from calling him uncle, a trace of distress flashed across Yuan Feiye’s impish face.

“Thank you, Brother Yuan, for helping me,” Sang Fuying said, her lips naturally curving into a faint, sweet smile.

Yuan Feiye winked at the girl through the rearview mirror. “You’re welcome.”

The flying ship landed in front of a mansion. At the same time, another pure black flying ship descended nearby. Its door opened, and a tall, upright man in a black military uniform stepped out first.

His features were extraordinarily perfect, with well-defined but gentle contours. He exuded a noble and cool aura. Although a Federal Admiral, even in uniform he appeared refined, like a clear moonlight flowing over a stream.

When Sang Fuying saw him, tears began streaming uncontrollably from the corners of her eyes. As soon as the door opened, she ran to the man and threw herself into his arms.

“Uncle...”

Her voice was soft and sweet, with a hint of sobbing, almost like a child seeking affection.

Sang Yao’s brow twitched, momentarily stunned.

Today, he wasn’t the only one acting strangely. What was she thinking?

Since childhood, she had always treated him as if he were a plague. This was the first time she had ever approached him like this.

Leaning his elbow on the ship’s doorframe, Yuan Feiye tilted his body, his mischievous fox-like eyes teasingly watching the uncle and niece embrace.

“Tsk, who would have thought the relationship between Admiral Sang Yao and his little niece was actually quite good.”
