3. And There's an Incredible Database?!

“Mom, I really want to go home... If this were Star Wars, we wouldn’t stand a chance against those terrifying Star Destroyers...” Tang Xiao pressed his forehead, falling silent for a long moment. The joy of having the Kushan mothership from the game become reality had completely vanished.

“Alright then, Qi Jian, my chief of staff, can you help me tally up how many defensive forces we have?” Tang Xiao composed himself, deciding to struggle on.

Qi Jian immediately took on his role and answered confidently, “We have five Arrow-class reconnaissance planes and five Blade-class light fighters.”

Tang Xiao kept smiling as he watched him, but then an awkward silence stretched for over ten seconds before he smiled again and said, “Go on, I’m waiting.”

“That’s all.”

Tang Xiao, now somewhat alarmed, jumped up as if his backside was on fire, cursing loudly, “Damn it! This mothership carries 650,000 people and only has five reconnaissance planes and five fighters for defense?!”

Qi Jian, newly appointed and suddenly scolded for no reason, quickly lowered his head and replied, “Sorry, Administrator, the navigation logs have completely disappeared, so I have no idea what happened during previous voyages. The reality is, these are the only small ships we have to protect ourselves.”

“Mainframe, pull up the data. I want to see just what kind of reconnaissance and fighter planes can protect a mothership. At the very least, they should perform like an Infinite Destiny Gundam, right?” Tang Xiao sat back down and said.

A crude, ugly triangular small ship appeared on the holographic display. The mainframe’s voice came: “This is the Arrow-class reconnaissance plane, 9.5 meters long, lacking hyperspace jump capability and atmospheric combat ability. Maximum acceleration is 100G. Equipped with two basic electromagnetic cannons, both mounted on the left side of the hull to make room for the afterburner, with limited ammunition.”

Then the hologram switched to a somewhat sturdier ship with a rectangular hull, the cockpit protruding on the right side, and two six-barreled electromagnetic cannons mounted in the center. The mainframe continued: “This is the Blade-class light fighter, 7.4 meters long, lacking hyperspace jump capability and atmospheric combat ability. Maximum acceleration is 85G. It is equipped with two six-barreled electromagnetic cannons.”

Tang Xiao collapsed to the floor with a thud... ORZ.

“Administrator, are you alright?” Qi Jian hurried over, wanting to help him up but hesitating to make contact.

After a moment, Tang Xiao stood up again, clearing his throat and said, “So, aside from these two pieces of junk, we’re basically defenseless, right?”

“That’s alright, Administrator! Our database contains very comprehensive ship data!” Qi Jian reassured him with a hint of pride. “Don’t you remember? It was you who granted us this supreme honor, allowing us to board this unparalleled mothership!”

“Mainframe, what kinds of data are in the database?” Tang Xiao asked, turning back.

Page 2/3

“The database contains data on many other ships, including giant motherships over 74,000 meters long. However, having data alone isn’t enough to build them; the research department must convert this data into production capability, which requires a great deal of time and resources.”

Tang Xiao’s interest peaked as he quickly asked, “Show me what kinds of ships are available.”

A flood of data and entries appeared before his eyes, overwhelming him. The database didn’t just feature spaceships, but a variety of technologies spanning civilian life, society, culture, and more.

This puzzled him: the game “Homeworld” didn’t have nearly this many ships. Even counting all the titles in the series, there were fewer than a hundred types. So where did all these countless entries come from?

Then, some familiar names flashed before Tang Xiao’s eyes...

Wait a minute... Raven-class battleship? Tauren-class battlecruiser? Core-class battlecruiser? Orion-class assault carrier? Endless-class super mothership? Seeing these familiar names and ship designs, Tang Xiao’s jaw dropped wider and wider, almost hitting the floor.

“What’s going on? This magnificent database... does it include data from every sci-fi space game?” Tang Xiao muttered.

“To be precise, it contains data from all the games the author has played. &&*%$#%$# System error *(^%$$, repair complete.” The mainframe suddenly emitted static before saying, “These data originally exist in the database, with no additional information.”

“Wait! Then the one over 74,000 meters long... No way!” Tang Xiao suddenly thought of something and quickly searched the list. Sure enough, a dazzling golden warship appeared before him. “A-Aegis of Adun? It really is the Aegis of Adun! The Protoss mothership from StarCraft!”

“That’s correct. This mothership is named Aegis of Adun, with a full length of 74,550 meters.”

“Can we build the Aegis of Adun? What are the requirements?” Tang Xiao’s voice trembled with excitement.

“At present, we have no possibility of building the Aegis of Adun. Even if we had the workers and resources, the enormous gap in production technology prevents us from manufacturing even a small component. We must wait for our research department to analyze and assimilate the Aegis data before construction can begin.”

Tang Xiao chuckled bitterly; he quickly understood this inevitable conclusion. “Ah, I see. The Protoss technology system is completely different from ours; it’s impossible to build something like that.”

“Administrator, what are Protoss?” Qi Jian asked.

“Nothing. Filter out those unrealistic projects and show me the ships we can currently build,” Tang Xiao waved his hand.

“The production lines onboard the mothership can only build Arrow-class reconnaissance planes and Blade-class light fighters. There is also a small transport ship capable of ferrying cargo between planets and the mothership. To build larger ships, we need to construct a space dock. Additionally, there is some technology close to our own in production processes that the research department should be able to analyze soon. Shall I list them?”

Page 3/3

“No need for now. We currently lack the space and resources to invest in research.” Tang Xiao shook his head and refocused, turning to the civilian staff. “Have the supplies on the mothership been organized?”

“They have. As the core computer indicated, our stockpiles are well below the critical threshold. The Agriculture Department just reported that most crops in the hydroponic bays have withered,” a female clerk replied. “Therefore, the best course of action is to begin landing operations as soon as possible. We should be able to find food on the planet.”

“Qi Jian, arrange for the production of five more Arrow-class reconnaissance planes and twenty Blade-class fighters. Awaken twenty pilots to ensure the mothership’s basic security. Then dispatch transport planes to scout Limin Star, determine a landing site, and awaken fifty marines to stand by at all times.”

“Yes, sir!” Qi Jian snapped to attention and immediately went to work.

“One more thing,” Tang Xiao paused and called Qi Jian back. “This is the starting point of our journey in this strange universe. From now on, we will name this habitable planet Limin Star! This will be our new home!”

“Yes! Limin Star! This is our new home!” Qi Jian was overwhelmed with excitement and saluted deeply.

Everyone else on the bridge immediately stood up and saluted, then burst into applause, sharing their excitement with one another.

Watching the jubilant crowd, Tang Xiao sighed deeply, his face devoid of any joy, sitting back down like a zombie. After the earlier excitement, his mood began to sink. Despite being surrounded by the cheers in the command center, he felt utterly out of place, overwhelmed by a profound loneliness.

If he had a choice, he would rather still be in that warm, happy home, surrounded by family, cozy and harmonious.

But now, he was the administrator of a mothership, responsible for the lives of 600,000 people, possibly about to be thrown into a vast interstellar war. The number of casualties might reach billions, trillions. What he held in his hands was truly insignificant.

Ignoring the bustling command center, Tang Xiao quietly stood up and followed the mainframe’s guidance back to his luxurious quarters. He threw himself onto the soft velvet bed, hoping to forget these troubling thoughts.

Gradually, he drifted off to sleep.
