Chapter 29: My First Assignment as a War Correspondent
Liu Yang had already taken a shower and was lying on his bed to rest. Having dispatched quite a few zombies and several star athletes earlier that day, he felt a bit weary. He reached into his dark dimension, pulled out some bread and milk, and began to eat while contemplating his plans for the future.
"The food from the residential convenience store and the school cafeteria is enough to sustain us for a long time, but one must always maintain a sense of urgency in this apocalypse. What if I get lucky and find hundreds of female survivors? This amount of food won't be enough. Besides, the 20x20x20 dark dimension is so spacious that it remains mostly empty—only about a third full—which frustrates me. I must fill it to the brim!"
"So, my next move is to scavenge for supplies outside the residential complex. There is a large supermarket about a kilometer away. It holds far more food than the cafeteria or the convenience store. If I can clear it out, I should be able to fill the dark dimension completely!"
"Furthermore, with my current strength, even if I leave the complex and encounter a siege of dozens of zombies, I am more than capable of fighting. Even if I were surrounded by hundreds or thousands, I have the ability to escape. Having six times the speed of an average human is no joke; even if I can't win, I can simply run. Those zombies could never catch me."
With that, Liu Yang made up his mind to start raiding the large supermarket tomorrow. By then, he would truly have more food than he could ever finish!
"Knock, knock, knock!"
Just as Liu Yang was lost in his thoughts, his bedroom door was suddenly knocked. He was taken aback. Who would be knocking at this hour? Could it be the teacher, Zhao Yuting? But he hadn't given her any hint to seek him out. In the visions he had experienced, Zhao Yuting had shielded him even when he was being swarmed, which had touched him deeply. She had shown him genuine kindness, and he intended to treat her with the utmost kindness in return. Those with truly pure hearts deserve to be treated well by the world. That was why he had told her to eat with Su Xiao and He Yushi; she didn't have to force herself to become his woman.
"Please, come in," Liu Yang called out. If it were Zhao Yuting, he could clarify things with her. However, the person who pushed the door open was not Zhao Yuting, but Zhou Qiuping, whom he had almost forgotten. So it was her.
Zhou Qiuping had been rescued alongside Zhao Lina. She was a beauty on par with a class queen—fair-skinned, pretty, tall, and curvaceous—and had been the object of many boys' crushes at school. Yet, compared to the overachieving school beauty Zhao Lina, her appearance was slightly less striking. Consequently, after Liu Yang had been with Zhao Lina, he had simply forgotten about Zhou Qiuping. Seeing her knock and enter, he finally remembered her. She must have been starving for days, he realized; she probably couldn't take the hunger anymore.
It had to be said that Zhao Lina was truly clever. She had knocked on his door the very first day she was brought back and thus hadn't suffered much hunger. This Zhou Qiuping was a bit slower, having needlessly endured an extra day of starvation. The difference in intelligence between people was evident from this alone.
Liu Yang smiled at her and asked, "So, have you finally made up your mind?"
"Mm... mmm..." Zhou Qiuping blushed, her head lowered as she nodded twice.
"Then don't dawdle, come here," Liu Yang said, patting the bed.
"I... I heard from Lina that you are very powerful and strong, that the average person can't handle you, so I'm a little scared..." Zhou Qiuping said bashfully. She had heard from Zhao Lina that Liu Yang was powerful, enduring, and incredibly fast. Girls like them couldn't withstand it; Zhao Lina had been left exhausted on the bed. Naturally, Zhou Qiuping was terrified. She had no prior experience in such matters and was filled with a mix of anticipation, curiosity, and fear—especially since her first time would be with someone as formidable as Liu Yang. There had been no gradual process. As a girl as innocent as a blank sheet of paper, she was scared to death.
"Don't be afraid, I'll be gentle. Don't listen to Zhao Lina and the others; though they were exhausted in the end, they were still left wanting more!" Liu Yang laughed.
"Lina said you want to be gentle, but your 'hardware' doesn't allow for it..." Zhou Qiuping murmured.
"Uh... well, that's not my fault... Come on, enough talk," Liu Yang said, pulling her onto the bed.
Soon, indescribable sounds emanated from the room, audible even to those downstairs. He Yushi, Tang Mengting, Zhao Yuting, Zhao Lina, Su Xiao, and Chen Dan all poked their heads out, whispering and discussing the sounds from upstairs.
Zhao Lina wore a satisfied expression. "Oh! That girl Qiuping finally figured it out, heading up in broad daylight!"
He Yushi remarked, "You overachieving school beauty, you should have told her to come up with you back then. You let her starve for an extra day, and you have the nerve to talk!"
Zhao Lina blushed at He Yushi's comment. "Goodness! Both of us together? That would be too embarrassing! I don't want that!"
Tang Mengting added softly, "Your best friend is quite wild, too. She's being even louder than you were!"
Su Xiao chimed in, "Indeed, louder than everyone else! They just get more impressive one after another. So shy before going in, yet so unrestrained once they're inside, huh?"
Chen Dan gasped, "My god, did I hear that right? Did she just call out his name like that?"
He Yushi said, "You heard right, I heard it too! This Zhou Qiuping is really quite wild!"
Zhao Yuting, hearing the sounds from upstairs and the discussion among the others, turned bright red and couldn't utter a word. She thought to herself, *My goodness! Is this what it's like when a man and a woman are together? Does everyone make such loud sounds? How embarrassing! If I ever end up with Liu Yang like that, will I have to be that loud too? Ahhh! It's so shameful!*
At that moment, Zhao Yuting’s breath quickened, her body burned, and her face turned as red as a monkey's backside. As a "war correspondent" experiencing the sounds of real action for the first time, the noise stirred her heart in ways she hadn't expected. It felt as if hundreds of ants were crawling over her, leaving her entire body itching with discomfort. At the same time, her curiosity and anticipation regarding the affairs between men and women began to grow ever stronger.
