Chapter 5: The Campus Belle Comes Calling?
Liu Yang went upstairs and opened the window to observe the zombies outside. They stood aimlessly around the villa, waiting for their next prey to appear.
“These zombies clearly saw Tang Mengting and me hiding inside the villa, yet they haven’t resumed their attack. This shows how low their intelligence is. As long as we don’t make noise or appear in their line of sight, they won’t launch an assault...”
Low zombie intelligence—this was good news.
While Liu Yang was watching the zombies, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed some movement at the opposite villa. Shifting his gaze, he saw a very beautiful girl waving at him incessantly by the window.
“Is she a surviving beauty?” Liu Yang squinted toward her.
Although the distance made it impossible to see her features clearly, he could faintly discern her delicate features and fair skin—she must be a stunningly beautiful woman.
The girl’s face instantly lit up when she noticed Liu Yang had seen her. She then turned away from the window. When she reappeared, she held a large drawing pad.
“Oh, an art student? What’s she up to? Drawing me?” Liu Yang stroked his chin, intrigued by this pretty art student.
Soon, she flipped the pad around. Liu Yang saw three words written on it: “I’m so hungry!”
He chuckled. “I thought she was going to do something big, but all that effort was just to say this?”
“I’m hungry too!” Liu Yang exaggerated his mouth movements toward the girl.
She quickly scribbled again on the pad:
“I saw you got some food earlier. Can you give me some?”
“Hmm, I didn’t expect her to notice. Looks like she saw me going to the convenience store for supplies,” Liu Yang thought. Shaking his head, he mouthed the word: “No!”
A pitiful crying face emoji appeared on the pad.
Haha.
This girl was quite amusing.
Liu Yang was amused by the self-drawn emoji she had made.
Using gestures, he pointed at her, then at his own room, mouthing: “If you can come over, I’ll give you food.”
---
The girl instantly perked up upon reading Liu Yang’s message. She leaned out the window to survey the outside and saw zombies swarming the villa’s front door.
Entering through the front door was impossible.
But the windows were another matter.
Since the villa community was inhabited by wealthy residents, there were no security bars on the windows—those would ruin the aesthetic of the villas.
The first-floor side window could be climbed through directly into Liu Yang’s villa.
All he had to do was open the window in advance!
There were no zombies between the two villas.
If she could quietly approach the window, she could get inside.
After seeing this, the girl quickly wrote on her drawing pad:
“Open the first-floor window; I’ll come in through there.”
Liu Yang peered out and confirmed there were indeed windows on the first floor of both villas, about 50 meters apart, with no zombies blocking the path between them.
If they stayed quiet, they wouldn’t alert the zombies at the villa entrance.
This girl was smart and decisive—she made up her mind quickly, showing she was calm and resolute.
It was rare to see such decisiveness in a girl.
Liu Yang went down to the first floor and stood by the window, waving at her through the glass.
The girl saw Liu Yang was ready and quickly came downstairs.
Tang Mengting watched Liu Yang standing by the window, puzzled. “Liu Yang, what are you doing?”
“Waiting to welcome a runaway lamb,” Liu Yang said with a smile, not turning his head.
He had to admit, this art student’s behavior intrigued him.
For a girl to make such a decisive choice in the apocalypse, rather than waiting to die inside the house, was admirable.
Tang Mengting definitely wouldn’t have done the same.
Hearing Liu Yang, Tang Mengting leaned closer to glance outside and saw the girl running over.
---
The distance between the two villas was 50 meters. In just a few seconds, the girl reached Liu Yang’s window. He immediately opened it, and she climbed inside. Once she was in, Liu Yang closed the window behind her.
After entering, Liu Yang finally got a good look at the girl.
Such exquisite features!
This beauty was far more stunning than Tang Mengting—her large eyes were pure and bright, her nose sharp and high-bridged, giving her a somewhat mixed-race appearance. Her tall, curvaceous figure complemented her angelic face perfectly. She was truly a rare beauty.
Tang Mengting instantly recognized her, eyes wide in disbelief. “You... aren’t you He Yushi? The goddess of Class Two and one of the four school beauties, the art school flower?”
He Yushi was an art student and one of the four renowned beauties on campus.
Countless male students pursued her relentlessly.
She had received over a thousand love letters and confessions.
If Tang Mengting had a few dozen admirers, He Yushi had hundreds.
“Thank you both! Yes, I’m He Yushi. Thank you for recognizing me,” she said breathlessly, patting her ample chest.
Though the distance wasn’t far—just a few dozen meters—her fear and tension had driven her to exert all her strength, unleashing unprecedented energy to run as fast as possible.
Those few dozen meters seemed to have drained all her energy; she was utterly exhausted.
After a long moment, she said, “So tired, so thirsty. I’m going to drink some water first.”
Without hesitation, she headed to the kitchen, putting her mouth under the faucet and gulping down water, completely disregarding the image of a goddess.
Liu Yang found her behavior amusing.
He had heard of He Yushi’s fame as one of the four school beauties back in school.
But at that time, poor and insecure, he hadn’t dared to entertain such thoughts and paid no real attention to these beauties.
At most, he had only glanced from afar.
He had also heard that He Yushi was aloof and had very high standards. No one had ever been able to win her over, not even the top wealthy second-generation heirs.
Boys at school regarded her almost like a celestial goddess—someone to admire from afar, not to approach. Simply speaking to her was considered a great honor.
But now, Liu Yang saw all those rumors as false. This He Yushi was casual and carefree, not overly concerned with her image. She was decisive and straightforward, unlike other girls who were timid and cautious. Her manner of speaking and personality seemed approachable—she was nowhere near as untouchable as the legends claimed...
