Seeing his strength enhanced, Liu Yang was now brimming with confidence. On the second day of the apocalypse, he had already acquired such a powerful ability and boosted his base attributes by 40%. Compared to ordinary people, he was far ahead.

This gave him a better chance to survive in the end times.

At this moment, Tang Mengting was still curled up on the bed, looking wronged.

To be honest, Liu Yang was somewhat surprised; he hadn't expected Tang Mengting to be inexperienced in matters of intimacy.

He was actually her first man.

That Zhao Ming had been dating her for months and often brought her to the villa to hang out—were they just playing board games there? Or was Zhao Ming simply incapable?

This turned out to be a great advantage for Liu Yang.

He glanced at her and said, “Alright, get up quickly. We need to head out to find food! Why the victim act now? You were making quite a fuss just a moment ago.”

Tang Mengting, with a vacant look, slowly got up and followed behind Liu Yang. After his earlier ‘lesson,’ some parts of her still ached, making it difficult to walk properly.

Before setting out, Liu Yang ran a simulation of their future course.

In his mind, vivid, movie-like scenes played out with startling realism.

In the simulation, they encountered no major surprises and successfully gathered food, allowing them to set off officially.

Before leaving, Liu Yang warned Tang Mengting, “From now on, follow my lead exactly. Don’t make any noise, or we’ll attract zombies. When scavenging, only take food that will fill our stomachs—no unnecessary items, understand?”

“Got it,” Tang Mengting nodded.

They each grabbed a backpack, slung them over their shoulders, and stepped outside.

The villa had returned to silence—no screams, no sounds—like a desolate wasteland where no living soul remained.

Outside the door, no zombies lingered. Only a few skeletons, gnawed clean, lay on the ground, the stench detectable from a distance.

Liu Yang scanned the surroundings and, seeing no zombies nearby, strode straight toward the mini fire station.

As the security guard for this neighborhood, Liu Yang knew the area like the back of his hand.

Inside the mini fire station was a fire axe—a formidable weapon capable of splitting a zombie’s skull with a single strike.

Soon, Liu Yang arrived at the fire station, took the fire axe, and headed toward the community’s convenience store.

It was the only food store in the villa district, stocked with plenty of supplies.

If they managed to scavenge a full backpack, it would last at least a week!

They reached the convenience store, where several zombies loitered outside, with a few thoroughly devoured corpses on the ground.

Liu Yang charged forward, wielding the fire axe.

With his base attributes increased by 40%, a handful of zombies were hardly a threat.

The zombies roared furiously upon seeing him and lunged with snarling faces.

Liu Yang swung the axe, cleaving the head of the foremost zombie in one blow, splitting the skull clean through. He pulled out the axe and struck again, toppling another zombie.

In less than ten seconds, he had taken down three zombies!

Tang Mengting was stunned by the display.

So fierce!

Absolutely fierce.

Liu Yang’s ferocity in combat far exceeded even their prior intimate encounter.

Was this man born to slay zombies?

Initially, Tang Mengting had felt wronged, thinking it humiliating to be involved with a mere security guard.

But now, seeing Liu Yang’s strength, her resentment faded.

In this apocalypse, a true powerhouse who could dispatch zombies without hesitation or blinking was a valuable protector.

Clinging to Liu Yang’s strength meant a chance to survive.

“Let’s go scavenge for food. Don’t just stand there spaced out. The noise might attract more zombies to surround us, so we have to move quickly!” Liu Yang reminded Tang Mengting, who was still dazed.

“Okay... okay, got it,” she replied as they entered the store.

Inside, a zombie idled behind the counter—the former owner of the convenience store. Liu Yang had often bought water here before and recognized him.

Unexpectedly, the outbreak claimed him as well.

Liu Yang swung the axe, delivering him mercy, then started stuffing food into their backpacks.

He cautioned Tang Mengting, “Only take food with high calories that fills the stomach and is easy to carry—sugar, milk, sausages, vacuum-packed chicken legs, things like that.”

“Mm-hmm, understood,” Tang Mengting nodded.

Within a minute, their backpacks were full.

As they prepared to leave, a horde of zombies had gathered nearby—at least a dozen.

“Run! Even I can’t handle this many zombies at once!”

Tang Mengting was terrified at the sight and immediately bolted.

Pursued by the zombies, they dashed into the nearest villa and slammed the door shut behind them.

The zombies outside, unable to see inside, ceased their pursuit.

Inside the villa, the original occupant had turned into a zombie. Liu Yang dispatched him with the axe.

Tang Mengting asked curiously, “Liu Yang, why don’t we just hide inside the convenience store and lock the door? That way, we’d have endless food.”

Liu Yang replied, “We’re not the only survivors in this villa district, and the convenience store is the only place with food. Others might be too afraid to go out now, but hunger will force them to risk coming here eventually.

If we stay inside the store, other survivors might find and attack us.

Although I’m stronger now, I’m not invincible.

Sitting on a store full of food would make us a target for all the others.

It’s safer to stay in a villa near the store and make several trips to scavenge food.”

He emptied the food from the backpacks onto the floor and said to Tang Mengting, “From now on, we ration the food. Eat only a fixed amount per day, or it won’t last long.

The fight just now attracted over a dozen zombies around the store and our villa. The next trip will be even more dangerous. We have to conserve our supplies.”

“Mm-hmm,” Tang Mengting agreed.

Having witnessed Liu Yang’s strength firsthand, she dared not utter a single complaint anymore.
