Ah!

“No, no—”

A terrified scream, mingled with muffled cries of fear, shattered the stillness of the bedroom. Lying in a deep sleep, Leng Nini suddenly snapped awake, eyes wide and filled with terror. Her limbs stiffened as she bolted upright, flailing her arms wildly as if swatting at invisible insects.

Tang Yixue, who had been sitting by the bedside, gazing out the window lost in thought, was abruptly pulled back to reality by the outburst. She turned her head, offering a gentle smile to the startled Leng Nini, then reached out to softly embrace her trembling shoulders. Her voice was gentle and full of concern: “Nini, it’s all right. You’re safe now.”

Though she spoke quietly, Leng Nini heard her clearly. She looked up, scanning the room, and finally her gaze settled on the exquisite, captivating face of the woman before her. After a long, long moment, the terror in her eyes gradually faded, replaced by confusion and a lingering sense of disbelief.

“Yixue?” Perhaps from crying too hard, her voice was hoarse and tinged with a sob as she spoke, the sound raw and unsteady.

“Yes, it’s me. What, has it been so long that you don’t even recognize your sister?” Tang Yixue’s elegant brows drew together, her lips pursed in a slight pout—her tone held a trace of mock annoyance, though a smile quickly broke through her feigned displeasure.

“It really has been a while—over half a year, I think.” Leng Nini tilted her head back, staring at the ceiling as if searching her memory. After a pause, her gaze returned to Tang Yixue’s enchanting eyes, and she muttered softly.

With that, the bedroom fell into a brief silence, as if both women were lost in memories of the past.

After about five minutes, the quiet was shattered by Leng Nini’s sudden exclamation.

“Ah! Where’s Xiao Yang? He didn’t get hurt by that bastard Leng Qing, did he?” In a flurry of panic and confusion, she forcefully shrugged off Tang Yixue’s arms, darting about the room like a frightened animal, her words tumbling out in frantic concern.

Tang Yixue, nearly knocked off the bed and left speechless by the chaos, shot Leng Nini a helpless glare. The force of her escape had caught her off guard, and Nini’s elbow had struck her in the stomach, leaving her face pale with pain as she nearly toppled from the mattress.

Seeing Tang Yixue’s contorted, ashen expression, Leng Nini realized she had hurt her. Pouting awkwardly, she stammered apology after apology: “Yixue, I—I didn’t mean to.”

Tang Yixue gave a silent sigh. Not on purpose? She thought to herself, this girl must have done it deliberately. But on her face, she managed a smile that was more a grimace, forcing out a perfunctory, “It’s fine.”

“But, but—” Leng Nini still seemed genuinely remorseful, trying to continue her apology.

“No buts. At most I’ll just return the favor later, all right?” Tang Yixue’s eyes glinted mischievously as she teased, her gaze drifting over Leng Nini’s ample chest. Thanks to the loose pajamas, most of her pale skin was exposed, and with Tang Yixue standing half a head taller, it was easy to look down and take in the view.

Her playful words instantly dispelled the tension, and soon the room was filled with laughter.

Perhaps it was the long separation, or simply the nature of two beautiful women—no, to be precise, one woman who had recently come of age, and another who longed for someone to make her a woman. As the saying goes, three women make a play, but two are no less lively. The conversation between beauties was always rich and varied, and soon their chatter knew no end.

“Yixue, you and Xiao Yang—have you two, you know, done that yet?” Women were always observant, and after some idle gossip, the ever-blunt and irreverent Leng Nini couldn’t hold back her curiosity and whispered the question.

For a moment, Tang Yixue’s radiant smile froze, her eyes flickering as she looked away, clearly embarrassed. “W-what are you saying, Nini?”

“I’m not making things up, my instincts are always spot on. So, have you?” Leng Nini pressed, her bright eyes fixed intently on Tang Yixue’s evasive gaze, determined to get to the bottom of it.

“Is that so important?” Tang Yixue exhaled, turning to stare out the window, her tone low and hesitant.

“It’s important. Very important,” Leng Nini insisted, sitting up straight and staring at her, her voice rising in pitch, nearly a shout.

“I—I…” Tang Yixue fidgeted, at a loss for words on such a sensitive topic. How could she answer? Should she admit, “Yes, we’ve done it many times, are you satisfied now?” Or should she lie, “No, absolutely not, I’m still a pure and untouched maiden.” But she doubted Nini would believe such childish reassurance.

As the two wrestled with the topic, an abrupt screech of brakes outside broke the awkward tension.

Tang Yixue, as if grasping a lifeline, immediately sprang up and rushed to the window.

But she wasn’t the fastest. When it came to impulsiveness, Leng Nini had few equals. Barefoot, she darted across the bed, leapt over a chair, and landed ahead of Tang Yixue at the window, her lively eyes glued to the rugged Range Rover pulling into the villa.

As the car door opened, Lin Yang and Meng Hu stepped out.

“It’s Xiao Yang! It’s him! Wait—where did he go?” Leng Nini chirped like an excitable sparrow, turning to Tang Yixue in confusion.

“The police station,” Tang Yixue replied indifferently, her gaze never leaving Lin Yang for a moment.

She knew the troublemakers at the villa were from the Leng family, and after the police hauled them away, she had wanted to accompany Lin Yang to lend support and intimidate the unruly Leng family members. But Lin Yang, worried that Leng Nini would wake up and cause a scene if she didn’t see him, had insisted she stay behind.

“The police station? Why did he go there?” Leng Nini pressed, her delicate brows furrowing and her pretty face clouding with displeasure.

“What else? Someone important from the Leng family intervened. The police chief could never handle it alone. Since Lin Yang helped him out, of course he’d try to rescue him.” Tang Yixue’s words were calm, but deep down she was anxious. Lin Yang was her man now—how could she not be on edge? She had even secretly called her family’s patriarch; if the Leng family dared to harm Lin Yang, she’d make sure none of them ever left Jinhai alive.

“Those bastards, how could they!” The change in her expression was instantaneous. Just moments before, Leng Nini had been fierce and assertive; now, she broke down like a wronged child, sobbing loudly, her cries growing louder and showing no sign of stopping, leaving Tang Yixue at a complete loss.

Bang! As her wailing reached a crescendo, the bedroom door was flung open.

“What’s wrong? Who upset Nini?” Lin Yang’s figure appeared in the doorway.

As soon as she saw him, Leng Nini rushed into his arms without a second thought, burying herself against his chest, her full curves pressing unreservedly against him as she squirmed.

Soft, warm, and wonderfully supple—the sensation overwhelmed Lin Yang. Yet, with Tang Yixue watching from nearby, he was caught in a dilemma: fend her off, or yield and hold her close, risking Yixue’s anger and a ruined relationship? He hesitated, letting Leng Nini nuzzle and cling to him.

Her wriggling made it clear—the sound of snapping bandages was unmistakable.

Leng Nini, oblivious, pressed closer still.

“Bro, why’d you run so fast? Even if you’re chasing after a woman, there’s no need to rush like that! These old bones can’t keep up!” Panting heavily, Meng Hu grumbled as he entered, but seeing their intimate embrace, his annoyance vanished, replaced by a teasing smile: “Oops, didn’t mean to interrupt. Keep going, don’t mind me.” With that, he turned to leave.

With such an untimely interruption, some were pleased and others disappointed.

Leng Nini shot Meng Hu a fierce glare, then reluctantly disentangled herself from Lin Yang, arms crossed over her chest as she hurried toward the bathroom. Only after letting go did she realize something was wrong—her top was loose, the right strap snapped from all the friction. In a panic, she clutched her chest and rushed to fix it.

“Heh, little brother, you certainly have luck with the ladies! Two beauties fawning over you at once—reminds me of my own glory days,” Meng Hu whispered with a chuckle, sidling up to Lin Yang. Ever since meeting Lin Yang, he’d felt twenty years younger and become increasingly fond of making off-color jokes.

“Please, don’t make fun of me, brother,” Lin Yang replied helplessly, thinking Meng Hu was quite the old rogue. Still, he didn’t mind the teasing. Stealing a glance at Tang Yixue’s blushing cheeks, he quickly changed the subject: “By the way, any news on the Leng family’s whereabouts?”

Meng Hu’s smile faded, his brow furrowing in concern. “They’ve left Jinhai. My men report they’re headed toward Jiangning, but details are sketchy—we’re still tracking them.”

“They left Jinhai?” Lin Yang murmured in disbelief, his own brows knitting. From what he knew of the Leng family, they weren’t the type to give up so easily. Could they really have left so quietly? Honestly, he found it hard to believe.
