Chapter 79: The Neighbor's House, An Extraordinary Little Boy
For Lin Yang, the person he trusted most and wanted to rely on deep down was none other than Tang Yixue, who had been like a childhood companion to him. In fact, if anyone could help him in any meaningful way, she was undoubtedly his first choice. Even putting aside the fact that the Tang family’s influence in Yinchuan City could rival that of the Lin family, Jin Hai’s power alone far surpassed the network he’d painstakingly built over the past half year. What’s more, Tang Yixue was a brilliant and talented woman, with connections to important people far beyond what he could hope to muster, and as for the Golden Silkworm Powder—considering its cosmetic properties—it was certainly more fitting to discuss with a woman. After careful consideration, Lin Yang floored the gas pedal of his newly purchased BMW sports car and sped toward Nanxiang District.
If the uncle and nephew of the Leng family were to learn that Lin Yang had so extravagantly squandered nearly all the millions he’d extorted from them in a single day, they’d probably be so furious they’d drop dead on the spot.
Men had always favored bold black, and Lin Yang was no exception. He’d set his sights on the latest model black BMW, which, as expected, handled beautifully—far superior to the outdated Audi A4 he’d previously owned.
Originally, Lin Yang had been drawn to the wild, rugged look of a Land Rover, but the price was outrageously high, and it attracted far too much attention—a luxury brand sure to turn every head the moment it hit the street. As someone who preferred to keep a low profile, there was no way he would flaunt his wealth in front of others. Thus, though it pained him, he set his sights on the BMW dealership.
Lin Yang’s driving skills were indeed impressive. In just half an hour of reckless speeding, his car pulled into the Liuyun Community in Nanxiang District. Fearing that Tang Yixue might be busy with company affairs, he’d called her before he even hit the road. He had no desire to make a wasted trip; that would be a loss not worth the effort.
Besides, time was tight. In addition to visiting Tang Yixue, he wanted to take the opportunity to rekindle some intimacy with her—it had been days since he’d last exercised such “primal sport,” and he found himself missing it.
Luck was on his side. When he called, Tang Yixue was just leaving the Fashion Tower, preparing to drive home. So, when his BMW drifted to a neat ninety-degree stop beneath her residence, a red sports car soon followed, racing up behind him. Once he glimpsed the familiar silhouette in the driver’s seat, Lin Yang leapt out of the car, flashing a mischievous, lascivious grin in the direction of the girl.
“Yixue, it’s only been a few days, and you’re even more enchanting than before. Heh, and your bust seems to have grown a little too.” Watching Tang Yixue emerge from her car in a short purple jacket, Lin Yang showered her with unabashed praise. Words, after all, were free and plentiful—and in his eyes, she was his woman. Compliments were only natural.
Everyone delights in beauty, especially women who pay particular attention to their appearance. Being praised by the man she loved, Tang Yixue’s heart melted with sweetness. Flirtatiously, she tossed the hair covering half her face over her shoulder, struck a beguiling pose, and gave a soft, alluring smile. “Is that so?”
Lin Yang nodded earnestly, his hands not idle as his rough, calloused palm reached for Tang Yixue’s petite left hand.
It was soft and smooth to the touch; unable to resist, he squeezed it a few times, blurting out, “Your little hand is so well cared for. Heh, but I wonder if those little rabbits on your chest are as soft as ever. Come, darling, let your husband check for himself.” As he spoke, his free hand brazenly reached for her generous bosom.
“Milking dragon claw technique,” Lin Yang teased with a wicked smirk, his voice low, but Tang Yixue, so close to him, heard it clearly.
“Xiao Yang, we’re still outside,” Tang Yixue protested, flustered by his antics, brushing away his roving hand. Shyly, she glanced around to make sure no one was watching, finally breathing a sigh of relief.
If not for what happened next, Lin Yang would have succeeded. But fate had other plans—at that very moment, a childish voice chimed in, sounding for all the world like a little rascal.
“Mommy, Mommy, there’s a man and a woman downstairs kissing, just like you and Daddy! Oh, now they’re touching each other! Hey, who’s that man? He’s not very good at it—look, the lady got away. Hmph, Daddy’s much better.”
The youthful voice drifted over from not far off, striking Lin Yang and Tang Yixue’s ears. In a flash, Tang Yixue’s cheeks burned bright red, like a ripe apple.
Lin Yang broke out in a cold sweat; his wicked smile froze awkwardly on his face. Who was this brat? So aggravating—and what timing! Tang Yixue had just voiced her fears about being seen, and not only had this little troublemaker witnessed everything, he’d had the nerve to comment loudly. Utterly shameless!
Following the sound, Lin Yang looked up at a forty-five-degree angle to his right.
There, on the second-floor window ledge of the villa next to Tang Yixue’s, a bald-headed boy of about six was perched, chin resting on his hands, big eyes locked on them with an expression of rapt fascination as he commented gleefully.
“Xiaoyu, get back in here! How many times have I told you not to talk nonsense? Why won’t you listen?” a woman’s gentle yet reproachful voice sounded from within the boy’s room, tinged with embarrassment.
“No! That lady is beautiful—I’m just admiring her. Daddy said it’s good for you! And he also said looking at pretty ladies makes you more handsome. But that man’s not so great—he’s as skinny as the ribs Mommy cooks. Still, I haven’t thrown up yet! Hee hee…” The boy chattered on without restraint, utterly ignoring Lin Yang’s threatening glare.
Truly, Lin Yang’s luck was rotten. The boy’s comments were outrageous, and Lin Yang, unable to bear it, glared at him with eyes like longan fruit, seething as the boy conveniently turned to look back toward his room.
“Xiaoyu, come here and close the window, or Mommy will get angry,” the woman called again, her voice sharper now.
“No! I want to see the pretty lady,” the boy insisted, turning back with a pout, ignoring the woman inside, his eyes sliding past Lin Yang’s glare to fix on Tang Yixue, whose cheeks were aflame.
Lin Yang was utterly defeated. Whose child was this? What a little monster! That cheeky mouth and those lecherous eyes were more than he could bear. Damn it—bald brat, you haven’t even grown all your hair but you’re already ogling women? Clearly, you’re going to be a menace to girls everywhere when you grow up.
“Aww, the lady’s blushing—she’s so pretty! I want to kiss her!” the boy continued, never at a loss for shocking words.
Lin Yang was getting angry. Damn it, it’s one thing to stare, but now you want to kiss her? Even if you’re just a kid, this is too much! Flirting with my wife right in front of me? Fuming, he glanced at the ground, determined to teach this bald-headed brat a lesson he’d never forget—let him know that other men’s wives were off-limits, not to be objectified in his childish fantasies.
The little brat was even drooling. Lin Yang hated it—sharp eyesight wasn’t always a good thing; sometimes it brought nothing but trouble.
“Xiaoyu, Mommy’s angry now, and the consequences will be serious.”
Tap, tap, tap—the sound of footsteps. Lin Yang marveled at his own acute hearing: even from this distance, he picked out the faintest noise—a sound the boy at the window surely hadn’t noticed.
He flashed the boy a sweet, sinister smile, silently mouthing, “You’re in trouble now, kid. Just wait for your mom to teach you a lesson.”
Sure enough, as Lin Yang had hoped, a slender, elegant hand reached out the window at a tricky angle, grabbed the boy by his ear, and gave it a sharp tug.
“Ouch! Pretty Mommy, I’m sorry! It hurts, it hurts—let go! My ear’s going to fall off!” Wincing in pain, the boy couldn’t help but glance back and forth between Tang Yixue and the owner of the hand, grumbling in protest.
Lin Yang and Tang Yixue, who had just been flustered and angry, now burst out laughing, unable to help themselves. In Lin Yang’s mind, a thought flashed: “Whose mother and son are these? What a pair!”
With his tendency toward free association, Lin Yang couldn’t help but imagine that the boy’s father must be quite the character himself—how else could they have produced such a little rascal?
“Let go, Mommy! Look, the pretty lady is laughing—see, isn’t she pretty? Take a look!” Sensing his mother’s grip loosen, the boy persisted, pointing excitedly at Tang Yixue, who was now laughing so hard she was doubled over.
Curiosity is universal, especially among women—if someone is said to be more beautiful than oneself, curiosity and jealousy combine to compel a look. The woman, urged by her son, leaned out the window for a better view.
Indeed, the girl downstairs was strikingly beautiful. As the woman’s eyes met Tang Yixue’s for an instant, she couldn’t help but admit it silently to herself.
Lin Yang, meanwhile, was completely ignored by the woman at the window, and so failed to notice the odd expression on his face.
“Miss Wang? Or Mrs. Wang?” he murmured softly to himself, having caught a glimpse of her features.
She had a round, chubby, adorable doll-like face—hardly the look of a married woman, much less the mother of a six-year-old boy.
It was late, and she was at home, dressed in a nightgown that, because she was leaning out, did little to conceal the dark bustier beneath. Lin Yang’s upward glance gave him an unimpeded view.
“Oh no, bad big brother, Mommy, you’re exposed!” the boy shouted, reaching toward her chest and glaring at Lin Yang with accusation. He called out loudly, not bothering to lower his voice.
This time, all three pairs of eyes turned to Lin Yang.
Lin Yang was left speechless. This brat was shameless—ogling someone else’s wife and then, in front of her husband, loudly commenting on her appearance. All Lin Yang had done was glance up and, purely by accident, catch sight of her black bra. Now the boy was making a scene—how was he supposed to live this down?
The guilty party calls out for justice first—Lin Yang shot the boy a fierce glare, then quickly put on a friendly smile for the woman at the window.
“Um, Doctor Lin?” Perhaps Lin Yang’s smile was just that distinctive, for the woman at the window recognized him at once, her voice filled with surprise.
